16-12-2014 RAISING AWARENESS (CAMPAIGNS) OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN/GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE
Raising awareness of the different forms of violence against women is important in the prevention of violence against women. This heightened awareness is a first step in changing attitudes and behaviour that perpetuate or condone the various forms of violence against women. From 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day, the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Campaign is a time to galvanize action to end violence against women and girls around the world.
